Dried fruit

The departure of all kinds of dry fruits with the passenger is unimpeded in the amount that does not have a commercial aspect. The maximum amount of pistachios allowed for departure is 10 kg per passport and 100 grams of saffron per passport.

Carpets and rugs

Hand-woven carpets are allowed to be taken out with the passenger up to a maximum of 20 square meters, and the passenger has no restrictions on the number of carpet pieces, provided that they comply with the mentioned meters.
In addition to the air borders, the departure of the carpet with the passenger is also allowed from the land and sea borders.

Traveler’s currency

According to the regulations of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, each passenger is free to take cash up to $5,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies).
Cash withdrawal of currency in the form of traveler’s checks is also free.

Gold and silver

It is allowed to leave personal jewelry with the passenger, up to 150 grams of all kinds of gold artifacts.
Passengers are allowed to take out artifacts and silverware as gifts and souvenirs up to a maximum of 2 kg. Provided that the mentioned objects are not cultural and historical works.

Works of art and antiques

The export of antiques, original works of art, manuscripts and lithographic books, calligraphic pieces, miniature papers, all kinds of precious coins and any kind of historical and cultural heritage items is prohibited.

It is forbidden to leave the country with weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The entry of currency into the country is free in any amount. Inbound passengers must declare their foreign currency by submitting a currency declaration to the Bank Melli branches located at the entry point and receive a certificate.
The entry of jewelry with passengers such as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, bangles, watches, etc. is allowed in the normal limit and for personal use as a unit, and the entry of excess is subject to obtaining a prior permission from the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The used tools and hand tools related to the work and profession of Iranians and foreigners who come to Iran for permanent residence are subject to the passenger exemption of the Customs Affairs Law, provided that:

The employment of those people in the claimed profession has been confirmed by the Iranian consular authorities in the country of their previous residence, and in places where there are no Iranian consular authorities, it is sufficient to provide a certificate from the local authorities.

This prohibition includes the goods of ordinary passengers of authorized entry points and commercial and industrial free zones.

The entry of domestic animals and birds is subject to the presentation of a health certificate from the country of origin and the approval of the veterinary organization, and their export is also subject to the presentation of a health certificate from the veterinary organization.
The import and export of wild animals and birds will be subject to the presentation of a certificate from the Environmental Protection Organization.
The entry and clearance of telecommunications items such as wireless telephones, etc. is allowed only by providing a license from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The entry and clearance of plants such as seeds, flowers, seedlings, etc. is allowed only by submitting a permit from the plant quarantine.
The entry and clearance of live fish is allowed only with the permission of the Ministry of Agriculture.
